Manifesto

GusPalette is what happens when the body tells the story. And the story is painted in full spectrum.

A body in motion, a lens turned inward

GusPalette is not just a brand. It is a body in motion, a lens turned inward, and a brush dipped in every colour of becoming. It is the artistic identity of Augusto Alves, a non-binary filmmaker and movement artist, who uses performance, cinema and self-expression to paint the multiplicity of queer experience: boldly, sensually and without apology.

At its core, GusPalette is about reclaiming narrative through embodied art. Every piece of work, whether a short film, a pole performance, a photographic series or a moving self-portrait, is an act of resistance. A declaration of presence. A celebration of complexity. Here, vulnerability is power, sensuality is intelligence, and identity is not to be explained but expressed: fully, viscerally and truthfully.

GusPalette is for those who live in the in-between. For artists who are too fluid for a genre, too bold for the mainstream, too vulnerable for the algorithm. For those who understand that cinema can be a stage, that movement can be a monologue, and that softness can be sharp.

What we believe

  • Art must be embodied, not just imagined.

  • Expression is political, especially when it is personal.

  • Queerness is not a theme but a way of creating: non-linear, non-binary, and invested in beauty, rupture and reinvention.

  • A space for becoming, where identities in flux are not only welcome but centred, and the body is not edited out but honoured.

In the logo

A reel, a brushstroke, a clap

A deep black film reel sits at the heart of the mark: direction, authorship and control over one's own story. Around it, a continuous brushstroke spiral runs from red to violet, orange to indigo, like the flow of paint, the curve of a body, the turn of a performer in motion. The palette is not fixed swatches but a living spectrum. And on top, a clean clapperboard stripe: the cue to begin, to create, to declare that this is my story.

Meet the founder

Augusto (they/them)

Creative director, producer & editor

For me, storytelling is more than a craft. It's a form of healing, a channel for deep emotion, and a way to represent the parts of ourselves that are often overlooked. Immersed in the LGBT+ community, my work is intensely personal, infused with fragments of my own journey and the collective heartbeat of those around me. The struggles and triumphs of our diverse experiences fuel my creativity, pushing back against prejudice and misunderstanding.

My art often emerges from my own wounds and triumphs as an aspiring aerialist and pole dancer. This intersection of strength and vulnerability lets me explore the balance between discipline and freedom. Through my work, I try to capture the elegance and power of the non-binary experience and foster a deeper understanding and acceptance of our diverse identities. Each project is a commitment to giving voice to the LGBT+ community: creating spaces where every story is honoured, every voice is heard and every movement is felt.

Pole is where it starts

Pole and aerial practice shape the way we see bodies, movement and freedom on screen.
